We are looking for a skilled Security Administrator to join our team at G+D Canada. This position is critical in protecting the company’s personnel, property, and assets, including those of stakeholders and clients. You will manage and maintain physical security infrastructure, perform audits, handle security screening, and ensure compliance with security protocols. Responsibilities:
As the Security Administrator, your main tasks will include:
- Security Infrastructure Management:
- Configure and maintain physical security systems such as physical access control systems (PACS), CCTV, and NVR platforms.
- Lead the design and improvement of security infrastructure, making recommendations to the Security Manager.
- Implement security solutions and coordinate with vendors, ensuring changes align with strategic goals.
- Provide Level 1 technical support for systems, escalating to external vendors when necessary.
- Manage and coordinate maintenance inspections of security infrastructure in line with facility certification requirements.
- Physical Security Oversight:
- Monitor and maintain the physical security of all G+D Canada locations.
- Supervise security personnel, ensuring they are properly trained and implementing security measures effectively.
- Coordinate and enforce visitor management processes, internal transfers, and contract extensions in accordance with company policies.
- Employee Security Screening:
- Conduct criminal and credit screenings for new hires and contractors.
- Administer annual re-screenings for current employees and manage government screening programs.
- Coordinate security onboarding and termination processes to ensure compliance with HR and legal requirements.
- Security Audits and Investigations:
- Oversee daily internal audits, ensuring compliance with customer security requirements and company policies.
- Conduct security investigations related to incidents such as theft or policy noncompliance, identifying root causes and recommending remediation.
- Prepare investigation reports and follow up with stakeholders to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
- Provide after-hours support for security alarms and emergencies, leading response efforts in alignment with company policies.
- Serve as a 24/7 emergency escalation resource, ensuring efficient handling of alarms and security incidents.
- Administrative Duties:
- Collect and review guard service reports, prepare weekly statistical summaries, and maintain audit reports.
- Coordinate Security and Privacy Awareness Training (SAPT) and ensure all employees are up to date with security protocols.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications:
- Work Experience:
- Previous training or experience in Security and Investigations is an asset.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of physical security systems, including PACS, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Knowledge of networking and enterprise security solutions.
- Proficiency with common software tools such as email clients, word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Educational Background:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- First Aid Certification is preferred.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical system issues effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly for managing documentation and filing.
- Physical Requirements:
- This role may involve extended periods of walking or standing.
