Paralegal – Securities

As a Securities Paralegal, you will play a vital role in supporting our legal team with a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Filing Responsibilities:
    • Prepare SEDAR, SEDI, and BC Registry filings for reporting companies.
    • Draft materials for private placement and public (prospectus) financings, including post-closing filings.
  • Document Drafting:
    • Create continuous disclosure documents (press releases, material change reports, MD&A, etc.).
    • Coordinate filings with the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, and the CSE.
  • Collaboration & Administration:
    • Assist lawyers with securities documentation and continuous disclosure notices.
    • Prepare due diligence audit reports and liaise with legal staff and clients on file progress.
    • Perform general administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized Paralegal program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Paralegal in the securities practice group of a law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of securities legislation and the Canada Business Corporations Act.
  • Proficiency in SEDAR software and online filing websites (e.g., SEDI).
  • Excellent technical skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and BC Online.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A client-centered approach and commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to follow instructions, adhere to strict deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
