Continuing Care Assistant

About the Opportunity:

We are searching for a Continuing Care Assistant (PSW) to join our Parkland Riverview – Monarch Hall team. In this role, you will:

  • Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing as per the work assignment.
  • Collaborate with residents and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized Resident Care Plans.
  • Assist in planning and implementing resident leisure activities on a daily basis.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties as required.
  • Carry out delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice.
  • Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to the Supervisor.

About You:

We value continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. You should bring:

  • A valid Personal Support Worker Acute Care diploma or Provincial Personal Care Worker course (or equivalent).
  • Flexibility to work various hours and shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter across all shift types and days of the week.
  • A clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
  • Valid CPR & First Aid Certification or BLS (required).
  • Advanced proficiency in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with the elderly in long-term care or senior living environments is beneficial.
  • A passion for healthcare and ensuring seniors have access to quality care and services.
