Responsibilities
As a GRC Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Risk Assessment: Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of non-technical risk processes and control operations, focusing on compliance, AML, HR, legal, fraud, and operational risk.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain policies and standards to manage non-financial risks in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business lines to identify, evaluate, and mitigate non-financial risks, ensuring robust control environments are in place and effectively monitored.
- Regulatory Coordination: Coordinate with compliance, legal, and regulatory teams to stay updated on new regulations and changes to existing laws, analyzing their impact on the non-financial risk framework and control operations.
- Risk Mitigation Strategies: Facilitate the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, control improvements, and corrective action plans in response to identified risk exposures, audit findings, or regulatory examinations.
- Audit Reviews: Conduct regular reviews and audits of business processes and controls to assess compliance with established policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and analyses to senior management and relevant committees.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience: Strong technology risk governance experience, specifically in application assessments (detailed assessments vs. general oversight).
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk exposures into layman’s terms.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in Capital Markets is a strong plus, along with experience using Archer.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence in downtown Toronto twice a week.
Compensation
The pay for this role is competitive, offering up to $50/hr, with exact compensation varying based on skills, experience, and location.
