What You Can Expect to Do Here

In your role, you will be involved in a variety of tasks, including:

  • Project Monitoring: Help monitor projects at aggregate sites, landfills, and other contaminated areas.
  • Fieldwork: Conduct groundwater, surface water, gas, and soil sampling at various environmental projects.
  • Investigations: Participate in drilling, test pitting, and other subsurface field investigations.
  • Data Management: Record, process, and analyze field data while working with a multi-disciplinary team of technicians and engineers.
  • Office Tasks: Engage in data analysis, report preparation, and general office duties.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safe work practices according to our company policies and site-specific health and safety plans.

What You’ll Bring to WSP

To excel in this position, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or Geological Engineering.
  • Professional Goals: Actively working toward registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) in Ontario.
  • Field Experience: Relevant environmental or geotechnical engineering experience, particularly in environmental sampling, is an asset.
  • Field Interest: A willingness to work outdoors and travel to project sites using your vehicle.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, and regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities to handle on-the-fly challenges.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to technical excellence.
