WestJet is looking for an Aircraft Material Coordinator for an 11-Month Term Contract based in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time, on-site role requires an individual who is motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting the 24/7 operations of WestJet’s Technical Operations team, ensuring the availability of aircraft tools, parts, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
As an Aircraft Material Coordinator, you will:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all Technical Operations personnel at WestJet.
- Ensure the availability of aircraft tools, parts, shop supplies, and information for a 24/7 operation.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while managing costs and storage space across all WestJet bases.
- Oversee the inflow and outflow of Technical and non-technical inventory.
- Handle Dangerous Goods Materials according to Transportation of Dangerous Goods Guidelines and IATA requirements (upon certification).
- Accurately record all inventory transactions in the Computer Tracking System.
- Package and prepare materials for shipping and ensure they are stored per original manufacturing guidelines.
- Source parts and alternatives within inventory to minimize aircraft downtime.
- Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a safe operating environment.
Professional Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehousing environment focused on inventory management practices.
- At least 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- The ability to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance and an Airport Vehicle Operator’s License within 6 months of your start date.
- The capability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks including walking, climbing, lifting, and bending.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Additional Assets:
- Diploma in Inventory Management.
- Knowledge of aviation parts and experience in procurement.
- Forklift operator experience.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate or Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate.
