You will play a key role in guiding junior staff and executing contaminated sites assessments and remediation programs.
Duties:
- Stay updated on trends in the environmental sector and technical field.
- Design, manage, and conduct environmental site assessments and remediation programs across Alberta.
- Implement remediation and risk management strategies tailored to various site conditions.
- Manage projects within the approved scope, delivering quality reports on time and within budget.
- Develop accurate scopes of work, cost estimates, project plans, schedules, and deliverables.
- Mentor junior staff, ensuring high technical quality in project execution.
- Contribute to the implementation of project management best practices.
- Deliver winning technical proposals for environmental engineering projects.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an environmental discipline or environmentally-related engineering.
- Professional Registration: P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Ag. in Alberta.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience, with a preference for candidates with consulting experience.
- Knowledge: Expertise in contaminated sites assessment and remediation, along with current knowledge of Alberta environmental regulations (e.g., Alberta Tier 1 and 2 Soil and Groundwater Remediation Guidelines).
- Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; excellent problem-solving and leadership abilities.
- Client Relations: Experience in establishing and maintaining client relationships and contributing to business development.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Professional registration in other Canadian provinces and territories.
- Knowledge/experience with the Alberta Subsoil Salinity Tool Version 3.0, Alberta Exposure Control Guide, and Alberta Risk Management Plan Guide.
- Familiarity with active/closed landfills and federal contaminated sites guidelines.
