ANDRITZ is seeking a Structural / Civil Engineer to join our Clean Air Technologies division. This role offers flexibility in location, with the possibility to work near any major North American airport. A signing bonus will be offered based on the candidate’s experience.
Responsibilities
As a Structural Engineer, you will be involved in the following:
- Coordinate all structural engineering and design aspects throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
- Design structural components as per project needs defined by project managers.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the structural engineering practice, mentoring less experienced engineers and designers.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
- Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
- Conduct field observations, measurements, and calculations.
- Ensure adherence to ANDRITZ procedures and standards during project execution.
- Assist with large capital project development, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering designs.
- Support the elaboration of estimates for pre-contracts for equipment and engineering hours.
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Engineering, and Project Management to ensure design compliance with project contract requirements.
- Prepare drawings and documents for customer approval, material procurement, and fabrication.
- Review drawings from peers and vendors for accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits to gather field measurements and resolve design issues.
- Achieve design milestones as defined in the project schedule.
- Adapt existing designs for local application in the U.S. and utilize standards from other ANDRITZ entities.
- Assist the sales department with proposal drawings and material take-offs.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the organization.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with 5-10 years of experience.
- Practical experience in the Air Pollution Control/Clean Air Technologies industry is preferred.
- Registered as an EIT or P.Eng. for Canadian applicants; PE licensure is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering for capital projects ranging from $500k to $50M.
- Proficient in the design and analysis of platework and support steel structures.
- Experience with structural design and analysis software (e.g., STAAD, Risa).
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ASTM, API).
- Experience in construction activities for AQC systems on sites.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD or similar design tools.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with North American and international standards and codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, IBC).
- Legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15%).
- Open-minded and able to work with diverse teams across different cultures and geographies.
