Burloak Technologies, a division of Samuel, Son & Co., is seeking an AM Application Engineering Specialist to join its growing team. Burloak Technologies is a leader in additive manufacturing (AM) metal technology and is experiencing significant growth within the AM sector. Key Responsibilities
- AM Strategy Development: Create strategies for additive manufacturing, including support structures and build layouts.
- Process Development: Develop process parameters and strategies for advanced applications and new materials.
- Customer Requirements: Review customer requirements and provide feedback to ensure effective solutions.
- Design & Workflow: Design process workflows for additive manufacturing, utilizing CAD for 3D modeling and preparing engineering drawings.
- SOPs Maintenance: Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for additive manufacturing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing team to support daily additive operations.
- System Operation & Maintenance: Operate and maintain additive manufacturing systems and associated units.
- Quality Standards: Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and internal quality practices.
- Work Environment: Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in metal additive manufacturing applications, processes, and operations.
- Proficiency in additive manufacturing (AM) processes, including laser powder-bed fusion, electron powder-bed fusion, and direct energy deposition.
- CAD Skills: Experience with CAD modeling and drafting, specifically in SolidWorks, Ansys, Magics Materialise, EOSPRINT, and QUANTAM.
- Engineering Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Measurement Tools: Proficiency in using basic measurement tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present engineering data clearly and concisely.
- Problem-Solving: Experience working in a cross-functional environment and handling complex problem-solving tasks.
- MS Office: Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 10 to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Availability: Occasional evening and weekend availability.
