Legacy Interface Platform QA Engineer

Nokia is looking for a passionate and skilled Legacy Interface Platform QA Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing, modifying, and executing software test plans, analyzing and writing test standards and procedures, and maintaining documentation of test results to assist in debugging and software modification. You will play a key role in ensuring the functionality of legacy interfaces and troubleshooting issues with a focus on quality assurance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Test Development: Take charge of the qualification of new adapters supporting legacy interfaces like T1/E1, C37.94, Serial (RS232/RS485/RS422), and features like CESoPSN, ADC, and T1/E1 EPS protection.
  • Test Planning & Execution: Plan regression testbeds and determine the necessary equipment to execute test plans.
  • Automation: Develop and enhance automated test cases in a Linux-based regression environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers from the software and hardware teams to troubleshoot issues, investigate bugs, and resolve problems.
  • Best Practices: Apply industry-leading software development, configuration management, and quality assurance design and automation practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems, Software, Electrical, Communications, or equivalent.
  • Programming: Experience with programming languages, particularly scripting languages like TCL, Python, Perl, or Shell.
  • Quality Focus: Strong drive for best practices and delivering the highest quality.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Source Control: Experience with source control software, such as GIT.
  • Networking Tools: Familiarity with networking test tools (e.g., IXIA, Spirent, IPerf, Wireshark).
  • Legacy Interface Knowledge: Hands-on experience with legacy interface technologies like T1/E1, C37.94, and Serial (RS232/RS485/RS422).
  • Ethernet & Optical Transceivers: Knowledge of Ethernet and optical transceivers is a plus.
