The Manager, IT Business Partner Finance & Procurement is a critical link between Vale’s Information & Operational Technology (IT/OT) team and its Finance and Procurement functions. The role is focused on building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in North Atlantic, South Atlantic, and APAC regions, understanding business needs, and developing a multi-year IT/OT strategy that delivers value. This is a permanent, hybrid role based in Toronto, ON with occasional travel across Canada and Brazil.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Relationship Management: Build deep relationships with Finance and Procurement teams to understand their strategy, challenges, and processes.
- Demand Management: Collaborate with business leaders to develop business cases for IT/OT systems that align with business goals.
- Governance: Lead IT/OT governance forums, working closely with leadership to prioritize IT/OT initiatives.
- Strategy Development: Create an IT/OT and Data Strategy and Roadmap that aligns with Vale’s global operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure the Finance and Procurement IT/OT strategies integrate well with other support functions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build sponsorship and secure funding for technology initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, or Information Technology (IT).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in mining or heavy industry.
- Proven ability to manage IT/OT relationships with the business and develop technology roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of Finance and Procurement business processes, ideally in the mining or heavy industries.
- Skills:
- Ability to align IT initiatives with business strategy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with value management and LEAN methodologies.
