Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Contract Administrator, your main responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing contracts related to municipal infrastructure and land development projects, ensuring compliance with construction standards and regulations.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, designers, and inspectors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Assisting in the preparation of project budgets for construction services.
- Evaluating feedback on construction documents and troubleshooting any arising construction issues.
- Maintaining effective communication with project managers and clients regarding project status and quality.
- Participating in project status meetings and conducting on-site observations.
- Ensuring project compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluating contractor performance to uphold project deliverables and quality standards.
- Reviewing and approving shop drawings, manuals, and other project submittals.
- Processing contractor payment requests for Certificate of Payment preparation.
- Maintaining positive relationships with municipal, client, and contractor representatives.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support project success.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil contract administration.
- Proficiency in managing contracts for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
- Strong understanding of local construction standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF markup tools.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for occasional business use.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Additional certifications such as PMP, AScT, C.E.T., or P.Eng.
- Experience in sustainable and environmentally friendly construction practices.
- Advanced computer skills, including project management software.
