Freelance Bookkeeper (Onsite/Part-time)

Mississauga Air Delivery Inc. is seeking a Freelance Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is essential in managing the company’s financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable and receivable, and handling payroll functions. If you are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and possess a strong understanding of Canadian accounting practices, this opportunity could be a great fit for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Process received invoices, verify goods receipt against invoices, prepare payments, and handle all accounts payable functions.
  • Accounts Receivable: Prepare and distribute customer invoices, manage collections, and communicate with customers regarding overdue payments.
  • Payroll Processing: Calculate and process bi-weekly payroll, stat holiday pay, and manage payroll-related remittances.
  • HST & WSIB Reporting: Prepare and submit HST and WSIB remittances online, ensuring accuracy in all submissions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards on a monthly basis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and yearly financial statements and assist with audits.
  • General Ledger Management: Handle inter-company general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain an orderly filing system, track expenditures, assist in year-end audit preparations, and support general office duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of QuickBooks Desktop experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Canadian accounting practices.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude.
  • Previous sales experience is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality.
