Senior Business Analyst – Public Sector

Procom is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Business Analyst in the Public Sector. Located in Toronto, ON, this hybrid full-time role is ideal for professionals looking to make a significant impact in government services. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work closely with clients and stakeholders to provide crucial information and information technology (I&IT) business analysis services. Responsibilities

As a Senior Business Analyst, your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Business Analysis Services: Deliver a wide range of I&IT business analysis services to meet various business and technology needs.
  2. Stakeholder Interaction: Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather and document their requirements effectively.
  3. Promoting Best Practices: Advocate for best practices and apply re-engineering concepts to enhance business processes.
  4. Problem Assessment: Conduct thorough analyses to identify business problems and opportunities for clients.
  5. Documentation: Clearly document business requirements and identify suitable I&IT solutions.
  6. Strategy Development: Create strategies, prepare business cases, and perform feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives.
  7. Modeling: Engage in various types of modeling, including business modeling, use case modeling, and data flow modeling.
  8. Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to I&IT management and stakeholders.
  9. Performance Measurement: Develop performance measures and traceability matrices to evaluate business analysis outcomes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

Mandatory Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Requirements Gathering: Proven experience in gathering requirements and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Methodologies Knowledge: Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile project methodologies.
  • Prototyping Experience: Hands-on experience with advanced application prototyping and creating user stories using Jira and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Technical Translation: Ability to convert business and data requirements into specifications for appropriate technology solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Methodologies Knowledge: Experience with structured, object-oriented, and agile methodologies for user requirements.
  • Accessibility Awareness: Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and relevant regulations.
  • Information Tools: Experience using information retrieval packages and Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • I&IT Trends: Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and technologies.
  • Performance Measures: Background in developing performance measures for evaluating business analysis.
