Responsibilities
As a Senior Business Architect, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and support to project teams, ensuring successful development and implementation of enterprise-scale solutions.
- Architecture Alignment: Align business architecture with application architecture, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including cluster staff, project teams, clients, and service providers, to achieve project goals.
- Model Creation: Develop and maintain business and application architecture models and artifacts.
- Business Process Development: Create business processes using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and leverage cluster and ministry tools.
- Issue Management: Identify and manage project issues and risks, facilitating mitigation strategies.
- Privacy Assessments: Lead privacy impact assessments (PIA) and threat risk assessments (TRA).
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry best practices and perform environmental scans to inform project strategies.
- Agile Support: Support Agile Enterprise Architecture delivery and develop reference architecture artifacts and patterns.
- Facilitating Meetings: Arrange and facilitate Enterprise Architecture (EA) meetings to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Approval Processes: Assist in acquiring cluster and corporate approvals for project initiatives.
- Knowledge Transfer: Provide status updates and knowledge transfer to designated cluster staff while adhering to all GO-ITS standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years as a Business Architect with a strong background in developing business and application architecture artifacts.
- Solution Design: Proven experience in leading solution design, including security and privacy considerations.
- Enterprise Solutions: Familiarity with enterprise-scale Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, particularly Oracle Siebel.
- Governance Processes: Experience leading project teams through governance processes effectively.
- Assessment Processes: Experience with privacy impact assessments (PIA) and threat risk assessments (TRA).
- Comprehensive Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture across all domains.
Preferred Skills:
- Modeling Knowledge: Understanding of business functional modeling, service lifecycle modeling, and business process mapping.
- Government Experience: Experience working in government settings or complex organizations.
- Business Environment Awareness: Knowledge of diverse business environments, particularly in government and compliance contexts.
- Requirement Analysis: Ability to identify and analyze business requirements accurately.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Agile Experience: Familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Framework Knowledge: Knowledge of the Zachman Framework and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
