Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, your daily tasks will include:
Monthly Close Process
- Control Reviews: You will conduct control reviews on intercompany reconciliations and ensure accuracy in French to IFRS GAAP reconciliations.
- Account Certification: Certify monthly accounts by reviewing account balance supports and preparing balance certifications.
- Control Certifications: Complete monthly GBS control certifications to confirm the review of key controls such as OCI account reconciliation and manual account reviews.
- Analytics: Analyze the Balance Sheet and Income Statement to ensure accurate reporting.
- Facilitate Closings: Assist in recording adjustments and ensuring a smooth month-end closing process, including monitoring corporate expense accruals.
Quarterly and Yearly Close Process
- Regulatory Compliance: You will ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for subsidiaries, including offshore regulatory reporting in Mexico and Brazil.
- Timely Filings: Review filing requirements and ensure timely submissions to regulatory authorities when needed.
- Certification of Controls: Certify key controls necessary for preparing and filing financial statements, as well as conducting annual retained earnings reconciliation.
Additional Support
- Downstream Reporting Needs: Provide necessary support and information for various downstream reporting needs.
- New Product Support: Engage in discussions with the New Product Committee, ensuring smooth transitions from project to production phases.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the ITEC support team to enhance processes continually, maintaining an innovative and open mindset.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Experience: You should have 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles and concepts, including familiarity with financial product structures.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong presentation abilities.
- Teamwork: Ability to work well with others and be open to feedback while demonstrating integrity in a professional setting.
Preferred Skills
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Business Objects and Figaro is a plus.
- Analytical Tools: Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and Power BI is desirable.
- Accounting Standards: Understanding of IFRS and US GAAP is advantageous.
- Language Skills: Spanish proficiency is beneficial.
