Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our client, a leading technology company based in Toronto, ON. This hybrid full-time position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growth-driven environment, collaborating with a supportive management team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Duties
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include:
- Daily Cash Position Monitoring: Summarize and deliver daily cash position reports to senior management. Initiate fund transfers to maintain positive cash positions across all bank accounts.
- Monthly Journal Entries and Reconciliations: Prepare and oversee monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and prepaid accounts.
- Accounting for Prepaid Expenses: Maintain and update prepaid and amortization schedules for various expenses, including insurance, marketing, and contracts.
- Transaction Reconciliation: Reconcile and accurately record transactions for various bank accounts.
- Wire Transfers: Initiate wire transfers as requested by Accounts Payable or management.
- Sales Tax Compliance: Ensure timely filing and remittance of monthly sales tax and 911 tax returns, and assist with audits by government authorities.
- Lease Administration: Manage accounting for leases related to computers, equipment, and vehicles, including monthly reporting and payment entries.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support team objectives and business needs.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years in business accounting, with experience in ERP financial systems and report generation.
- Certifications: CPA designation (enrolled or completed).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
