WestJet is looking for a Portfolio Manager for Disruption Management based in Calgary, Alberta. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our operations and improving the guest experience during unexpected disruptions. Responsibilities
In your role as Portfolio Manager, you will:
- Manage Projects: Oversee a range of projects focused on disruption management, including the creation of a comprehensive corporate roadmap. You will prioritize projects across departments and plan resources, timelines, and risks.
- Ensure Successful Delivery: Lead the initiation, planning, execution, and closing of projects. You will ensure each project meets its scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Coordinate and communicate effectively with various teams within WestJet. You will lead discussions with executives and stakeholders to ensure everyone is aligned and making progress.
- Identify Risks: Analyze potential risks in project delivery and implement strategies to minimize their impact on operations.
- Report Performance: Monitor project progress and provide updates, including performance metrics and reviews after implementation.
- Develop Automation Solutions: Supervise the creation of automation tools to enhance IROP workflows and improve efficiency.
- Enhance Guest Experience: Look for ways to improve processes related to guest rebooking and overall disruption management to create a better experience for our customers.
- Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders and vendors involved in the IROP ecosystem.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least two years of experience in program or portfolio management, ideally in the travel, technology, or airline sectors.
- A proven record of leading projects focused on automation, workflow improvement, and guest rebooking solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas in simple terms and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies.
- Knowledge of Irregular Operations (IROP) processes and airline operations is highly desirable.
