Senior Manager, Engineering (CareOps)

Role Overview

The Sr. Manager, Engineering (CareOps) will oversee the development and management of a self-service platform supporting EMR and Fulfillment/Pharmacy Operations. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, engineering leaders, and operational stakeholders to ensure scalability, reliability, and adaptability of the platform to meet evolving business needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead, mentor, and coach engineers to foster a high-performance environment.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback cycles (three annually).
    • Collaborate with recruiting teams for hiring and onboarding.
  • Technical Strategy
    • Define and execute technical roadmaps aligning with strategic goals.
    • Stay updated with emerging technologies for informed decision-making.
  • Project Management
    • Oversee planning, prioritization, and feature development, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Manage risks, technical issues, and dependencies across projects.
    • Communicate project updates to stakeholders effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with DevOps, Security, SRE, and Data Platform teams for system alignment.
    • Partner with product and program managers to define requirements and scope.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field.
    • 10+ years in backend development; 5+ years in engineering leadership.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or other OOP languages.
    • Strong background in web frameworks and backend system design.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Compensation

Estimated range: $200,000 – $220,000 USD
(Actual compensation depends on location, skills, and experience).
