Job Summary
We are seeking a Clerk to join the Respiratory Therapy team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key administrative team member, you’ll manage staff schedules, book outpatient appointments, handle payroll submissions, and provide general clerical support for the respiratory therapy unit.

Key Responsibilities
- Outpatient Appointments:
- Schedule and manage outpatient bookings.
- Collect patient information and coordinate follow-up appointments.
- Staff Scheduling:
- Allocate and call in relief staff to cover shifts, vacations, and sick leaves.
- Maintain and adjust staff rotations to fill gaps and address shortages.
- Payroll Management:
- Maintain and submit timekeeping records to Payroll.
- Handle employee payroll inquiries and distribute pay stubs.
- Clerical & Administrative Support:
- Provide receptionist duties: welcome visitors, direct calls, and take messages.
- Manage physician billing records and generate reports.
- Organize and maintain patient charts, files, and office inventory.
- Schedule meetings, seminars, and interviews as directed by the Practice Chief.
- Sort and distribute internal/external mail and fax documents.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Four (4) years of recent clerical experience or a combination of education, training, and experience.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Keyboarding speed of 45 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize workload efficiently.
- Physical ability to perform job duties.
- Proficiency with related equipment and software.
