Ontario Transit Group (OTG), a partnership between Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects, is currently working on the Ontario Line project. This significant public transit project will strengthen Ontario’s economy and enhance commuter access by building a six-kilometer tunnel with multiple stations across Toronto. OTG is now looking for a Warehouse Administrator to support its project operations.
As part of this major transit initiative, you will be helping manage warehouse activities for the OTG Main Store, ensuring smooth operations related to incoming and outgoing goods, inventory management, and general warehouse tasks. The project, scheduled for completion by 2030, offers significant growth opportunities and is expected to create up to 1,500 jobs during peak construction. Responsibilities
As a Warehouse Administrator at OTG, your role will involve performing a wide range of administrative tasks related to warehouse operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Warehouse Administration & Documentation
- Handle daily administrative tasks, including processing documents for incoming and outgoing goods, inventory updates, and other warehouse activities.
- Use Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Cassius software, and other tools to track goods, manage stock, and maintain accurate records.
- Label items with QR codes and stock part references, ensuring that all products are clearly marked and easy to locate.
- Stock Organization & Inventory Management
- Manage the organization of stock on racks, shelves, pallets, and in storage containers, ensuring that everything is stored in an efficient and easily accessible manner.
- Occasionally lift and move stock (up to 44 lbs or 20 kg) as needed.
- Coordinate the physical arrangement of items for easy retrieval, keeping the warehouse organized at all times.
- Warehouse Operations Support
- Conduct daily pre-task briefings to inform the warehouse team of their duties and potential risks.
- Inspect incoming deliveries and verify goods for quality and quantity, ensuring there are no discrepancies or damages.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to manage delivery, issuance, and dispatch of items as requested.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and moving goods using a pump truck.
- Support other warehouse tasks as required to maintain smooth operations.
- Health and Safety
- Ensure all activities adhere to high standards of safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all areas of the warehouse to promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Warehouse Administrator role will have the following qualifications:
- Education and Experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- A general understanding of construction materials, tools, and consumables is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment (1-2 years) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Skills and Attributes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records and proper stock labeling.
- Ability to lift and move goods safely, as required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends, if necessary.
