Arc’teryx Equipment is seeking a Demand Planner to join our Merchandise Planning & Allocations team in North Vancouver, BC. In this role, you will take charge of developing and managing demand and inventory strategies for various product portfolios. Your decisions will be guided by merchant intentions, sales forecasts, revenue expectations, and supply chain capabilities. This is a critical position that ensures our products are available to create exceptional experiences for our customers while minimizing excess inventory.
Responsibilities
As a Demand Planner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with commercial and merchandising teams to create detailed demand plans that support strategic growth while managing inventory risks.
- Data Analysis: Analyze historical sales data, trends, and other relevant information to generate accurate demand forecasts for specific products at the SKU level by season and period.
- Feedback Integration: Collect and integrate ongoing feedback from various markets and channels to capture business trends effectively in your demand plan.
- Monthly Reviews: Lead the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for your portfolio, ensuring clarity on performance against planning KPIs.
- Supply Chain Collaboration: Partner with the supply planning team to ensure supply availability aligns with demand projections, adjusting plans as necessary to navigate supply chain challenges.
- Multi-channel Strategy Creation: Develop multi-channel planning strategies and determine accurate inventory requirements to meet our Strategic Business Plan (SBP) goals.
- Inventory Planning: Plan inventory needs to achieve revenue targets while minimizing excess global inventory.
- Demand Planning Ownership: Own the accuracy of demand planning for your portfolio and drive continuous improvement.
- Future Product Launches: Work with the merchandising team on preliminary forecasts for new product launches, validating assortment and SKU efficiency.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage inventory sell-through optimization through multi-channel allocations, pricing strategies, and end-of-life decisions.
Future Opportunities

- Participate in demand planning improvement initiatives as they arise.
- Engage in seasonal assortment reviews and lead buy reviews for each season.
- Collaborate with supply chain and product teams to enhance inventory strategies and track demand planning factors impacting product availability.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A university degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in demand planning, sales forecasting, or financial modeling.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, combined with a solid business understanding, allowing you to interpret numbers and convey insights across the organization.
- Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and tactically, with a keen attention to detail and comfort handling large data sets.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
- Flexibility: Adaptability and flexibility in handling ambiguity.
- Collaboration: Ability to balance independent work with teamwork.

Benefits
Arc’teryx offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 – $100,000 CAD annually, depending on your skills, experience, and education. Please note that this salary reflects base pay only and does not include additional benefits.
