Production Supervisor

Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Safety Leadership: Set the standard for safety by leading by example. Ensure your team adheres to all policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  2. Productivity Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maximize the quality and recovery of lumber produced.
  3. Team Engagement: Foster a culture of open and respectful communication to support team members in achieving excellence across all business areas.
  4. Quality Oversight: Monitor manufacturing quality to meet product specifications and customer expectations while maximizing production outputs.
  5. Collaboration: Engage with production and maintenance workers to achieve targets, address deficiencies, and maintain a productive work environment.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure that quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process to deliver the best products to our customers.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: A post-secondary education is preferred, but a minimum high school diploma is required.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in sawmill, planer, or related fields, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory position.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with lumber manufacturing and sawmill operations is a significant asset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are essential for effective teamwork.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership capabilities with a desire to guide a talented team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • Computer Proficiency: Competency in various software programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and lumber tracking systems.
