The City of Edmonton is excited to announce an opportunity for a Supervisor, Business Planning, Reporting, and Support. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Edmonton, AB. You will report directly to the Director of the Department Strategy & Project Management Centre of Excellence and lead a team dedicated to executing department performance reporting and business planning.
Key Responsibilities
As the Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and Inspire: Mentor and empower your team, promoting effective communication and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Strategic Leadership: Guide the development and enhancement of the Department’s business plans, budgets, and reporting processes.
- Manage Risks: Oversee strategic risk management frameworks for the Department and its branches, ensuring projects are completed to high standards.
- Drive Improvement: Continuously improve how capital projects are managed and supported, ensuring consistency in processes.
- Build Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to achieve shared goals.
- Collaborate with Leadership: Brief Directors, Branch Managers, and the Deputy City Manager on the overall health of the Department’s strategic planning and reporting programs.
- Focus on Culture: Create a respectful workplace culture based on values and collaboration.
- Anticipate Opportunities: Identify business opportunities, influence policies, and foster accountability through effective performance measurement.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Educational Background: Knowledge, training, or education in Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading in a complex organization.
- Strategic Insight: Experience in strategic planning and enterprise risk management within a large organization.
- Program Management Skills: Proven ability to implement complex program and process changes.
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are considered assets:
- Certifications: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Organizational Change Management Certification.
- Advanced Education: A Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Public Sector Experience: Previous experience in the public sector.
