Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Driving Financial Processes: Lead the period review, annual budget, and long-term planning processes. Prepare related analytics to support these initiatives.
- Updating Analyses: Continuously track and update analyses to reflect changing forecasts and capital plans, ensuring that all information is current and relevant.
- Initiative Coordination: Play a vital role in company-specific initiatives by collaborating with business leads to conduct meaningful analyses.
- Market Monitoring: Keep an eye on industry and market data that impacts the finance team and business management. Provide insights based on your findings.
- Guiding Decisions: Offer analysis and insights that will influence company decisions regarding funding, budget allocation, capital investments, and strategic direction.
- Collaborative Analysis: Partner with business leaders across the organization to analyze performance and address unique challenges effectively.
- Impactful Presentations: Present complex financial information in a clear and engaging manner to high-profile audiences, ensuring they understand the insights.
- Utilizing Tools: Use advanced forecasting and visualization tools to surface valuable insights that aid in decision-making.
- Support Corporate Finance: Assist other corporate finance teams, such as treasury, corporate services, and tax, as needed.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting is required.
- Professional Certification: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred, either completed or in progress.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with JD Edwards, TM1, and/or Power BI is considered an asset.
- Analytical Thinker: A creative thinker with the ability to analyze complex problems from multiple angles and derive actionable insights.
- Relationship Builder: Excellent communication skills to establish strong, trusting relationships with key stakeholders across various functions.
- Financial Acumen: A solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- System Experience: Experience with financial systems, forecasting, and financial modeling is important.
Pay & Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from CA$55,000 to CA$65,000 per year, depending on your skills and experience.
