Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Financial Closing Coordination: Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Inventory Accounting Management: Oversee the periodic inventory accounting system, including FIFO unit costing and impairment assessments.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Consolidate operating legal entities and prepare financial statements for tax purposes, including quarterly and annual statements for a TSX-listed company.
- Reporting Control Processes: Maintain financial reporting control processes as per the N1 52-109 internal control framework.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit and assist in preparing Audit Committee and Board of Directors reporting packages.
- Performance Scorecards: Support the internal department performance scorecards and provide ad-hoc business analysis.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Stay Informed: Keep abreast of IFRS developments and their implications for the company.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Education: CPA designation is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience with a large public accounting firm; preference for candidates with experience in manufacturing and/or periodic inventory systems.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical accounting skills under IFRS.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong judgment, diplomacy, and analytical capabilities.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
