Jardeg Construction Services is seeking an Equipment Operator/Materials Technician for the maintenance team at the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position is an expression of interest for an anticipated upcoming role. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to work on a 7 days on / 7 days off shift rotation, operating equipment safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
As an Equipment Operator/Materials Technician, your main tasks will include:
- Safe Operation: Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following relevant legislation and company policies.
- Material Handling: Move materials using a Zoom Boom and Skid Steer.
- Equipment Inspections: Perform pre-operational routine inspections on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with spotters, using hand signals as needed.
- Adaptability: Demonstrate the ability to adapt and move confidently between various tasks and sectors of the trade.
- Problem Solving: Assess and provide corrective measures for problems as they arise.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Safety Certifications: Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or CSTS-09 is required.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Satisfactory completion of a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
- Equipment Certificates: Telehandler and Skid Steer certificates are required.
- Valid Driver’s License: A current and valid driver’s license is necessary.
- Driver’s Abstract: A 3-year driver’s abstract is required.
- Journeyperson Status: A Material Technician Journeyperson certification is considered an asset.
