William Osler Health System (Osler) is looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic and patient-centered team. This role will provide hands-on experience across our various sites in Brampton and Etobicoke, contributing to a vital aspect of patient care in a multidisciplinary setting.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a resource to the patient care team on cardio-respiratory technical and clinical issues.
- Conduct respiratory assessments for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Manage, maintain, and calibrate cardio-respiratory support devices and monitoring equipment, including advanced ventilatory modalities.
- Provide airway management expertise, including intubation and O2 therapy.
- Administer medication by inhalation.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary health care team to develop patient care plans.
- Apply evidence-based guidelines in the practice of respiratory therapy.
- Report workload measures and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).
- Membership in CSRT (Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists) and RTSO (Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario) is preferred.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.
- Certification in adult and neonatal intubation, as well as adult radial arterial line insertion.
- Commitment to ongoing continuing education.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
