Responsibilities
As a Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting Assessments: Evaluate clients’ mental health needs through comprehensive assessments and interviews to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Providing Therapy: Offer individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of mothers and families, utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
- Creating Support Programs: Develop and implement support programs that promote mental well-being and resilience among clients.
- Collaborating with Team: Work closely with other professionals at Maternal Minds to ensure comprehensive care and support for our clients.
- Maintaining Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical practice in all client interactions.
- Documenting Progress: Keep accurate and timely records of client progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with organizational policies.
- Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about mental health issues and the services offered by Maternal Minds.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Licensing: Must be registered and in good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO).
- Experience: At least 2 years of clinical experience in providing therapy to individuals, particularly mothers and families.
- Cultural Competence: Understanding of the unique cultural and social dynamics within Muslim communities.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with clients and build trusting relationships.
- Therapeutic Skills: Proficiency in a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, or Play Therapy.
