Responsibilities
In your role as a Warehouse Technical Inspector, you will be responsible for:
- Technical Review: Review technical drawings and Quality Assurance (QA) documentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Material Inspection: Inspect incoming materials and verify they meet purchase requirements and technical specifications.
- Assessment: Identify and evaluate used parts, components, and assemblies to determine their suitability for repair.
- Stakeholder Interface: Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve non-conformance issues.
- Database Management: Update company database programs to record inspection results and document any non-conformance issues.
- Communication: Report on material availability and conformance issues to stakeholders effectively.
- Inventory Assistance: Assist warehouse personnel in inventory management as needed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should have the following qualifications:
- Experience: 2-3 years of technical inspection experience is preferred.
- Background: A technical background in the marine or aviation sectors is beneficial.
- Standards Knowledge: Ability to review and apply national and international standards during product assessments.
- Technical Drawing Interpretation: Proficient in understanding and interpreting technical drawings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- QA Inspection Experience: Previous experience in material QA inspections is desirable.
- Quality Control Knowledge: Familiarity with Quality Control or QA in manufacturing or maintenance of mechanical, electronic, submarine, or industrial equipment is an asset.
- Education: An accredited technical college diploma is a plus.
- Certifications: Certification through the American Society of Quality as a Certified Quality Inspector/Technician is an asset.
- Material Management Knowledge: Understanding of material management for major equipment and systems in the Department of National Defence, with DRMIS experience, is advantageous.
- ISO Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 18001 standards is beneficial.
- Security Clearance: Eligible for Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
